The Sacrament of Confirmation
“The Sacrament of Confirmation impresses a character and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gift of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church; it straightens them and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith.” (Canon 879).
Students begin this formation in their eighth year. This preparation includes service projects, spirit evenings, classroom instructions and a retreat. Students must be enrolled in Day School or in Monday Evening Program. (Note: Arrangements are made for students who have special needs or request preparation at other times.)
If you are interested in being a catechist or volunteer, or for more information and registration, please contact the Religious Education Office 347-2071.
